At the Swiss Italian Restaurant, we believe what the legend says, that the first Pizza was created in honor of Queen Margherita - the first Queen of Italy. When she was a guest at the Capodimonte in Naples she expressed a desire to eat a Neapolitan bread “specialty." Quickly, the hosts of Capodimonte called one of the most famous bakers of that time, who then prepared a savory flatbread topped patriotically with the national colors of Italy with Tomato sauce (RED), Mozzarella (WHITE), Basil and Oregano (GREEN) (fresh herbs).
