At the Swiss Italian German Restaurant Malapascua we believe what the legend says, that the first Pizza was created in honor of Queen Margherita, the first queen of Italy in Naples by the Neapolitan Pizzamaker Raffaele Esposito which created the "Pizza Margherita", a pizza garnished with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, to represent the national colors of Italy as on the Italian Flag.

Pizza Napolitana is a savory dish of Italian origin, consisting of a usually round, flattened base of leavened wheat-based thin dough topped with tomatoes, cheese, and various other ingredients like anchovies, olives and basil baked at a high temperature, traditionally in a stone based wood-fired oven. The authentic Neapolitan Pizza has a very thin crust at the base, with dough that puffs up around the sides and provides for a very airy crust.

The Cuisine of Germany has evolved as a national cuisine through centuries of social and political change with variations from region to region. German Cuisine are substantial Soups like the Goulash Suppe and Stews like Goulash, Zigeunerschnitzel and Schnitzel Stroganoff. Pork dishes like Schweinshaxe / Eisbein as well as  long tradition of sausage-making. Among the most popular and most common is the Bratwurst, the Frankfurter, the Wiener (Viennese), the Currywurst a Bratwurst, sliced and spiced with Curryketchup. In the mid-17th century the Potato was introduced and soon the Potato gained popularity and was integrated in the local German Cuisine. Many new recipes were developed such as Spätzle, Schupfnudeln, Potato Salad and Home Fries (Pommes Frites (French Fries)).

We at the Swiss Italian German Restaurant will prepare "GREAT STEAKS" including Wagyu Beef using the "Beefer" a HIGH HEAT GRILL that does things a differently. It's powered by infrared heat from top-mounted ceramic burners.

When we say high heat, we really mean it. Beefer reaches over 800 degrees celsius or 1,500 degrees fahrenheit, compare that to a typical grill that can hit around 250-300 degrees celsius or 500-600 degrees fahrenheit, in just minutes.

That is the magic temperature for getting top results when grilling protein like steak. It sears flavors in and creates a crispy, caramelized crust on meat in seconds. It cooks quickly and evenly to a perfect juicy doneness, same goes for pork, chicken and seafood. It works with veggies, too.
